Vonda L Westers' Obituary
Vonda L. Westers, 70, of Buffalo, SD, died on June 26, 2012 at the Billings Hospital in Billings, MT.
Funeral Services for Vonda will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Harding County Rec Center in Buffalo, SD. Visitation for Vonda will be on Sunday from 9am to 9 pm at the Krebsbach/Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Donovan Kack will officiate with burial to follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
Vonda L. Loof was born on December 17, 1941 the daughter of Mike and Leora (Fields) Loof in Adrian, MN. Vonda was raised in Harrisburg, SD where her parents owned and operated the Loof's Market. She received her education in Harrisburg where she graduated high school in 1959. After high school, Vonda attended Nettleton Commercial College for a while and also was employed in the office at Augustana College. On November 6, 1960 Vonda was united in marriage to Norman Westers at the Zion Lutheran Church. After their marriage, they made their home on the Westers Ranch 18 miles south of Buffalo, where they also raised their children; Rhonda, Dawn, Brenda and Torley "Tory". Vonda was a hard worker and helped with all the daily chores of running a ranch. She was devoted and loved her Savior and Lord all of her life. She spent many hours attending her grandchildren's activities at the HCHS. She loved to travel with Norman where they had almost visited every state in the nation. She liked to plant flowers and gardens. In the fall she canned its produce and also pears and apples from the trees in her yard. Vonda also was very crafty when it came to sewing. She even started her own little business where she would fix zippers. She became the zipper fixer to many people. On most weekends, Vonda would be found on the phone visiting countless hours with her many special friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Norman, children; Rhonda, Dawn, Brenda and Tory, 7 grandchildren; Alicia, Kory, Chelsea, Chase, Kyler, Amanda and Brandon and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Leora Loof and mother-in-law, Nellie Westerskow.
