Vicki w as born April 12, 1935 , to William and Ka therine ( Kordonowy ) Cymbaluk. She and her two siblings grew up on a farm north of Belfield , attending country grade school ; and g raduated from Belfield High School in 1954 . While working at Far mers Union Gas Station in South Heart , she met Bob Ridl. The couple was united in marriage on September 18, 1956, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Belfield . The blessings of five children were born into this union: Nancy, Alvin, Jim, Joan, and Lisa.
In 1958, Bob & Vicki moved to Bowman where Bob & Pete Cymbaluk founded Bowman Ready Mix. Later that year Bob and Vicki b ecame the sole owner s of the company . As the business continued to grow, it wasn't uncommon to see Vicki behind the wheel of a cement truck or operating the loader. Vicki earned the nicknames of " Mama Ready Rock " and " Mixing Mama " and wore those titles with pride.
As Alvin and Jim grew older, they h elp ed more with the business allowing Vicki to cut back on driving truck and spent more time doing what she loved; b aking and decorating birthday , anniversary, and wedding cakes . She was proud to have made the wedding cakes for all five of her children and one grandson. There were many celebrations in Bowman and the surrounding area s that shared and enjoyed Vicki's amazing cakes . Thru the years , Vicki also enjoyed creating and painting concrete lawn ornaments, gardening , quilting, listening to music, and tending to her yard. Often, people would stop by and look at the many different lawn ornaments and beautiful flowers displayed in her front yard . Peonies were a personal favorite . Vicki enjoyed num er ous collecti ons including a ngel figurine s and Dept . 56 Churches .
Vicki 's strong faith wa s a priority throughout her life. She loved her church and served with joy. She led the Rosary before Mass for many years and was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the St. Charles Altar Guild . Her servitude extended to many church functions, serving where needed. Later in life, Vicki's continued unwavering faith in the Lord led her to move St. Benedictine Living Community in Bismarck, where she was able to enjoy the on-sight chapel and attend daily Mass and Rosary. Vicki loved the hymns at Mass. After one of the last Mass services she attended, Vicki said, "the music was just so beautiful, it brought me to tears."
Vicki pla yed countless hands of cards over the years, including whist and pinochle . She enjoyed learning new crafts and kept busy with puzzles , word find books , playing Bingo, and riding stationary bike . T rips to Walmart , Hobby Lobby, and the Dollar Store were always a highlight.
Her greatest blessings in life were the times spent with her Grandchildren and Great Gr andchildren spoiling the m with treats and sweets. Certainly, the hardest time , was saying her final goodbye s to all those she loved. She is greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
