Vicki Stebbins Cellmer was born on October 22, 1957 to Victor and Virginia (Jensen) Stebbins. She was the fifth child of seven and attended grade school in Beulah, North Dakota and junior high school and high school in Bowman, North Dakota. After high school Vicki went to work for Sheehan Exploration in Sidney Montana. During this time she and two other women from Sheehan Exploration started their own hole plugging company, Blue Sky Hole Plugging. "Blue" Sheehan and Bill Van Hook were an inspiration in Vicki's professional life. Vicki and Tom Henderson made their home in Sidney Montana and Crane Montana from the mid 1970's until 1987. At that time Vicki moved to Monticella Utah where she met Ron Cellmer and in 1990 Ron and Vicki were married in an outside ceremony at her parents home in Bowman, North Dakota. Ron and Vicki called Utah, Nevada and Colorado their home before settling in Sturgis, South Dakota. Ronnie and Vicki worked together in the water well business which took them all over the united states and earned her the nick name "mud hen". Holidays on the road were only feasible because of Vicki's love for others on the crew and her love to cook. Everyone referred to her as "Miss Vic" or their second mother. Vicki was an avid dart player; she loved to fish and camp and be on the water and work with her flowers in her yard. With her love for flowers came the opportunity to work at Rocking Tree floral shop in Sturgis, South Dakota. Vicki always had a swimming pool in her back yard so friends and family and her animals had an opportunity to swim during the hot summer days. Vicki couldn't wait for the Sturgis rally as it was an opportunity for family and friends to join her and Ronnie at their home to share in wonderful meals prepared by Vicki and take the opportunity to share stories on their deck. Vicki was a part of a group of ladies who decided they didn't need weight watchers so they started their own group and they called themselves the 'phat ladies club' and each Saturday they met for a weigh in and the reward after weigh in, regardless of weight loss or weight gain, was a bloody Mary and the opportunity to share the day together. Vicki, Linda, Marilyn, Sharon, Doneen and Chris, the phat ladies club, were the best of friends. Vicki always took the opportunity to go to her cousin Judy Jones Reidel's assisted living facility to visit with the tenants just to make their day a little brighter, whether it was baked goods, or hand made gift bags or taking her dog Humphrey with and dressing him up according to the holidays. Vicki was the type of person that if all she had was a penny and you asked for a dime, she would figure a way to get that for you. Vicki had an impact on all the lives she touched. When you spoke with her on the phone she would always say goodbye 'for now' and I love ya.
Family and Friends are welcome to gather at 6:00 p.m. at the Four Seasons Building for a dinner.
