Obituary

Tyler Fischer, 22, of Rhame, ND, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013. A Memorial Service for Tyler will be held at the Bowman High School gymnasium on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Fr. David Morman will celebrate the Mass.

Tyler James Fischer was born on May 22, 1991 in Hettinger to James and Denise (Leach) Fischer. He was raised on the family ranch south of Rhame along with his older brothers, Christopher and Jason. Being the youngest of three boys, Tyler idolized his brothers and always tagged along behind them.

Tyler attended school in Bowman. Although he excelled in football, his main passion was basketball and this continued throughout his college years. Tyler was an inspiration to his teammates and a great role model to the younger kids who looked up to him. He was active in his church, leading Youth Group and attending Steubenville and SEARCH. Tyler spent the summer months working on the ranch and fencing for Carl Soreide. After graduation, Tyler attended Dakota College at Bottineau, where he continued to play basketball. He had a successful two years of college, graduating with a degree in Liberal Arts.

After graduating from college, Tyler moved to Minot and began working for Triangle Electric as an electrician. He was a member of the IBEW, Local 714. He was a hard worker with a positive attitude and very much enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. While living in Minot, when he wasn't working he could be found in the gym playing basketball, playing softball, or hanging out with his friends. Tyler loved hunting with his family and friends, and he recently developed a passion for golf. His cat, Diesel, was his pride and joy.

To all those who had the great privilege of knowing Tyler, he was one special guy. He always made time to visit, and constantly offered to help wherever he could. Tyler was very active in the community, often making the comment that he "has more moms than anybody needs", because so many people in the community loved him like family. He touched so many lives with his gentle personality. He was outgoing and so much fun, and he loved life.

Tyler was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard Fischer and Farris Leach. He is survived by his parents, James and Denise Fischer; brothers, Christopher and Jason (Kayla) Fischer; grandmothers, Doris Fischer and Ruth (Ralph Losing) Breen; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and special friend Cayla Engh.
