Timothy L.
Pendergrass
Dec 4, 1958 — Jul 3, 2026
Bowman
Timothy Lee Pendergrass, 67, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026 in Bowman, North Dakota. Memorial services for Tim will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Rhame First Lutheran Church at 10:00am. Bethany Kempenich and Terry Bagley will officiate the services with fellowship following the service.
Tim was born on December 4, 1958 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Wilburn and Macel Pendergrass, the sixth of their seven children. Tim, the ever hardworking gentleman, grew up tending to the horses, cows, and pigs on their farm in Beggs. Tim loved riding horses, fishing, and playing in the shade tree out front. Tim also had a stubborn side and was often reminded by his mother “don’t let that screen door slam shut.”
In the summer of 1979 in Oklahoma at a gathering of friends and family, Tim met the love of his life, Vivian Dingfelder, and they were wedded on September 1st, 1979. At this time, Tim also became a father to Joseph (Joey) Lee Dingfelder, which was one of the greatest honors of his life. Tim, Vivian, and Joey lived in Oklahoma until moving to Ekalaka Montana in 1981.
On December 15, 1991, Tim’s second son, Terrance Pendergrass was born in Baker, Montana. Shortly after, the family moved to Bowman, North Dakota in 2000 where Tim and Vivian have remained for the past 26 years. Joey unfortunately passed away on April 7, 2013. Tim was incredibly proud of both of his children and raising them was a cornerstone of his life. He remained incredibly close to his daughter in law, Billie Dingfelder, and granddaughter, Haley Dingfelder, spending as much time with them as he could.
Dad worked a number of jobs, all centered around his love of driving, and was loved by people everywhere he went. Tim took great pride and care in all of his work but especially enjoyed his mail route where he delivered with care, attention, and consistency. Tim was friends to all and gave just as good as he got. Tim will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and customers.
Tim is preceded by his parents, Wilburn and Macel, and his siblings, Franklin Eugene Pendergrass and Jackie Ray Pendergrass.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Vivian Pendergrass, son, Terrance Pendergrass, daughter in law, Billie Dingfelder, granddaughter, Haley Dingfelder, and siblings, Sandra Kay Ramsey, Curtis Jo Pendergrass, Patricia Gail Carner, and Gary Don Pendergrass.
The family encourages that, instead of flowers, remembrances to Tim be through helping a friend or stranger in need, enjoying a scenic drive, or paying it forward.
