Susan was born December 6, 1953 to Wilmer and Grace AUS in Bowman, North Dakota.  Susan received baptism at Lebanon Lutheran church in Amidon, North Dakota and spent her early years of life on a ranch west of Amidon.  She attended the local grade school at Sand Creek Township then graduated high school in Bowman, North Dakota. After completion of key punch and data entry courses at North Dakota School of Sciences in Wahpeton North Dakota, Susan became employed at Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Fargo, North Dakota.

In 1977, Susan and brother Gary traveled to Florida where Gary attended courses in heavy construction while Susan began working at a local truck farm picking the local vegetables.  After completion of the courses, Gary and Susan began their journey returning home by a drive north through the Atlantic Coast and then west through Chicago visiting friends and relatives. It was not long after, Susan met and married Terry Sorter of Beaver, Oklahoma where Terry was employed in the oil fields of Oklahoma and Susan became "Rosie the Riveter" assembling aircraft wings for a Beechcraft plant in Liberal, Kansas.  Two years later, they  returned to Dickinson, North Dakota where Susan found employment with STM Physical repairing seismic cables then transitioning to secretarial duties for several seismic crews located in Dickinson.

After a few years and divorce, Susan returned to the southern part of the country to continue her career by working for several seismic companies in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.  In the early 90's, she began employment for an oil and gas data processing company in Oklahoma City with her good friend Reed Hawthorne.  She accompanied Reed to Dallas, Texas and then to Houston, Texas to continue to remain employed with the same company.  While in Houston, Susan met and married Buzz Walradt in 1998.

Susan was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1995.  She was very positive and proactive in fighting this disease by staying physically active by volunteering for various fundraising events in Houston and eventually Billings, Montana.  In 2010, Susan and Buzz returned to Bowman, North Dakota to care for Susan's parents until their passing in 2012 and then after a divorce, she moved to Billings, Montana in 2013.  She always had a very social personality and an active life where she made friends and visited family wherever she went.  She loved traveling and snow skiing which she did do with the help of Eagle Mount, a company that enables people with disabilities to enjoy winter sports. In 2004, Susan and her sister Sharon plus eight cousins visited Norway for a genealogical tour.  She was a member of the Son's of Norway in Bowman and Billings.

When the year 2023 arrived, Susan found her way to an independent living facility at St. John's United center.  She had to deal with several bouts of lung cancer and radiation treatments until it spread throughout her body.  In December of 2024, she decided to choose TenderNest here in Billings where  her fight ended against cancer on February 1, 2025

Susan (Aus) Walradt was preceded in death by her parents Wilmer and Grace Aus.  She is survived by her brother Gordon Aus (Karla), Mandi, Ryder, Kade and Maverick Neeley; Craig (Chandler), Braxton, Cash, Ty Aus; her brother Gary Aus (Robin), Mandi (Chris Brown), Sammy Jo, Keely, Helena, Kingston, Haisley Reisenauer; her sister Sharon (Frank/Fuzzy) Schaff.  She loved us all and will surely be missed.
