Steven Ray Sacrison was born September 4, 1956 to Ruthann (Hanson) and John (Jack) Sacrison along with twin brother, Stan, in Rapid City, SD. He attended Buffalo Elementary School and Harding County High School, where he graduated in 1974. While in high school Steve worked for local rancher Lawrence Brown. After graduation Steve continued to help with the family business and attended "Jack Sacs School of Hard Knocks." On October 24, 1981, Steven married the love of his life, Virginia Siefken. They made their home in Buffalo, SD, and raised sons Finn, Drew and Ian. In 1982 Steve bought the concrete and masonry business from his parents.
In 1990 Steven and family joined twin Stan and the Black Hills Institute and Pete Larson in digging "T-Rex Stan." And that started his love for fossils that was only surpassed by the love for his faithful Chocolate Lab, "Angel."
Steve loved the Finnish tradition of sauna-ing. Shortly after graduation he built a sauna onto the bunkhouse. Anyone who wanted to find Steve on Saturdays didn't need to look any further than the bathhouse. In later years he loved passing the tradition on to his grandkids, giving the youngest her first sauna just months ago.
Steve has always been a jack of all trades, fixing anything from concrete to plumbing, furnaces to bones, vehicles and fishing poles. When people had problems they could always call Steve. He took great pride in helping people.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, John (Jack) Sacrison.
He is survived by his mother, Ruthann Sacrison; sons: Finn (Jessy), Drew (Brandy), and Ian (Amber); sisters and brothers: Valerie (Larry) _____, Jackie (Greg) Winner, Hans (Joan) Sacrison, Stan Sacrison, John Sacrison, and Will (Jan) Sacrison; grandchildren: Darrick, Axelynn, Gage, Zane and Kova Sisu; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
