Ruthann Sacrison, 85, of Buffalo, SD, passed away on August 20, 2015 in Broomfield, CO, in hospice care at the home of her daughter, Jackie and Greg Winner.
Funeral Services for Ruthann will be on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grand River Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Kris Garlick will officiate with burial to follow in the Cave Hills Cemetery, rural Buffalo.
Ruthann Hansen was born on June 12, 1930 in Austin, MN, the daughter of Dr. Hans Peter and Helma
( Johnson ) Hansen. She was reared in Austin where she enjoyed participating in band, orchestra and riding, training and showing 5 gaited horses. She also enjoyed helping her dad "Doc" Hansen at his small animal veterinarian clinic; he would not allow her to go on large animal calls. Ruthann attended school in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1948. She came to Harding County with her only sibling, an Osteopath, Dr. Robert "Bob" Hansen when he opened a small clinic in Buffalo. She loved the prairie so much she decided to stay. Ruthann met John E. "Jack" Sacrison and they were married on October 4, 1949 in Rapid City, SD, where Jack had been attending the School of Mines. They returned to Buffalo after their marriage as their family grew. Ruthann was appreciated for her excellent cooking skills and her wonderful caramel rolls and glazed pastries. She enjoyed taking her children swimming at the lake, playing cards (especially Bridge and Go Fish with the grandkids), board games and bowling. She assisted her husband Jack with construction and enjoyed amateur paleontology activities of her son and grandsons. Ruthann especially appreciated the many years of assistance and care given to her by sons Stan and Steve and companionship of many friends around Buffalo. Although the coffee group, card table and bingo hall will be one player short, she greatly enjoyed time with all of you.
Ruthann is survived by her two daughters; Valerie J. Hill (Larry Lekness) of Sisseton, SD and Jackie A. and Greg Winner of Broomfield, Co; four sons, Pastor Hans M. (Joan) Sacrison of Clear Lake, SD, Stanley J. Sacrison, and John Sacrison both of Buffalo, SD, and William (Jan) Sacrison of Spearfish, SD, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and brothers-in-law, Robert (Loydean) Sacrison of Albuquerque, NM, Hans (LeAnna) Sacrison of Kalispell, MT, Mary Sacrison of Kalispell, MT.
Ruthann was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, son, Steve, parents, Dr. Hans and Helma Hansen and brother, Dr. Bob Hansen.

Memorials are suggested to the Buffalo Senior Center.
