"Hurry up and Wait"

Roy was born on August 14, 1929 in Scranton , on the family farm , to Vincent and Agatha ( Bieniek ) Kromarek . He was the youngest of 11 siblings. Roy attended Country School South of Scranton for 8 years. Throughout his childhood , he worked on the family farm where his life long passion for farming began.

Roy met the love of his life, Lois Lohman , at the Albion Hotel where she was working as a cook. It was a well-known fact that his simple order of a BLT sandwich was Lois' least favorite menu item to make. Numerous sandwiches later and a promise to never have to make another BLT again, Roy and Lois were married on November 7th, 1951. They danced the night away to "The Blue Skirt Waltz" and continued dancing to it for the next 59 years. From this beautiful union, they were blessed with seven children: Melvina "Beanie", Vickie, Vincentette " Vincy ", Marion, Raymond, Karl, and Tonya. They later raised their grandchildren Jodi and Jereme .

While pursuing his love of farming, he also worked seasonally for the Milwaukee Railroad. Roy found joy in odd jobs such as helping to build surrounding Elevators and being a trusted helpful hand for friends and neighbors. He eventuall y found his true calling, being a Bus Driver . He was a dedicated driver for Scranton Public School for 20 years.

In his spare time, Roy was never short on projects. You could often find him creating treasures from an ything he could find at the farm . He is most known for his barn wood birdhouses, sewing machine tractors, Diamond Willow canes and lamps, unique yard decorations and last but not least an occasional squirrel feeder. When he wasn't busy making things, you could find him enjoying his favorite pastimes- going out on drives with his son Raymond, gallivanting out to the farm to count pheasan ts and tinkering around the yard .

Throughout the joys and blessing in his life, Roy also endured many losses. Most notably being the loss of his wife Lois and his two daughters Vickie and Beanie. Despite these hardships, he remained HUMBLE AND KIND. He was a hardworking, soft-spoken man, who rema ined dedicated to his family. Roy loved family gatherings more than anything, especially those that had pizza and beer on the menu.
