Bob was born September 14, 1936 to Albert and Ella (Wood) Folske on the homestead in Slope Co. North of Bowman, ND. He attended Cottage School for grades 1-8 and graduated from Bowman High in 1954. Bob was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Bowman Knights of Columbus.

Bob married his high school sweetheart Dora Mae Andrews on June 4th, 1957. They have two sons, Dan and Dick along with a daughter Jane. They lived in Stevensville, MT for a short time until being called back to help run the family farm. Bob used his many talents to restore a Model T and a buggy which he traded to Vic Wokal, along with a horse he raised and trained, for his first airplane. This was the first of many trades over the years.

Bob got his Commercial Pilot license in 1967 and started Folske Flying Service, and was an aerial crop sprayer for 35 years. He also acquired his Glider Pilot license. Through the years he raised and bred registered Angus cattle, along with animals ranging from horses to emus.

Bob was a gentle man with many life long friendships earned through years of travel, serving on the Boards of the ND Stockmen's Association, Slope Co. Fair and the 4-H Council. He was part of many other groups because of his vast array of interests such as draft horses, wagon trains, Yesterday's Farmers, wood turning, carving and painting. He always found the local coffee hangout wherever he went, making new friends along the way.

Little children had a special place in his heart and were drawn to his genial spirit. One of the things he loved to do was to show them how to make rope. He would let them pick out the colors and help make it, giving them the rope when it was done.

After leasing out the farm land and retiring, his greatest joy was traveling with Dora. They would load up the camper and take off for parts unknown from Texas to Alaska - where they returned several times, being sure to see the friends they met during previous trips.

Survivors include: wife Dora; sons Dan (Kathy) Folske, Bowbells, ND and Dick Folske, Bowman, ND; daughter Jane (Hans) Ahlness, Fargo, ND; grandchildren Jason (Dana) Piesik, Jodi (Jamie) Jorgenson, Conner Folske, Alexandra and Sean Ahlness; great-granddaughters Shay and Daltyn Piesik, Shyla, Maisey and Hallie Jorgenson and Journey Folske; brothers Jim (Cindy) Folske, Dave Folske and Al (Judy) Folske; along with 4 nieces, 6 nephews, many great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.
