Robert Butler, 79, of Bowman, ND, passed away on February 3, 2023 at the St. Luke Home in Dickinson, ND.

Services for Bob will be held at a later date.

Robert Fredericka Butler was born on October 20, 1943 in Forsyth, MT, the son of Fred and Katie (Stumper) Butler.  Bob was raised in Forsyth until his father passed away.  Bob and his brother Bill then moved to Home on the Range where he considered it his home with many fond memories.  One of which involved helping dig bleachers for the Medora Musical.  Bob joined the United States Army in 1963 and was honorably discharged as an ammunition Lt. in 1966.  Bob married and soon after was divorced.  In 1983, Bob was then united in marriage to Gail Downey and they had a blended family, 2 boys and girl for each of them until having a girl and a boy of their own.  Bob worked in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska's North Slope for 19yrs.  He then continued with Schlumberger until he got his dream job at S.W.A.G in Bowman.  He truly loved this company.  Bob was a kind and hardworking man.  He was preceded in death by a son Benjamin and daughter, Sherri his parents, Fred and Katie, brothers, Bill, Leonard and Rick and sister JoAnn.  Bob is survived by his wife Gail, sons; Mike, Mark, Nathan and Matthew, daughters; Ciana and Monica, 27 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brother Les, adopted daughter, Kayla and so many other blessings.
