Obituary

Peggy Bergquist, 83, of Rhame, ND passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial for Peggy will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman.  Fr. David Morman will celebrate the Mass with burial to follow at a later date.  There will be a Rosary and Scripture Service on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Peggy (Straight) Bergquist was born June 14, 1930 to Dewy and Mary Straight of Billings, Montana.  Peggy was the second of 6 children.  Going fishing with her dad was her favorite activity as a child.  The influence of a special Aunt instilled a fondness for rings.  It wasn't often that she did not have multiple rings on both hands.  The Mountains were also a great love that developed during her formative years and through early adulthood.

Peggy attended Catholic School and then transferred to Billings Senior High School.  Her next step was college.  After college Peggy was employed by Humble Oil, later to become Exxon.  Peggy met a tall handsome young man by the name of Louis Bergquist who turned out to be the love of her life.  Humble Oil transferred Peggy to Tulsa, Oklahoma.  This, however, did not detour this budding romance.  Peggy and Louis became husband and wife in Tulsa on October 5 th , 1962.

Louie and Peg made their home in Rhame, North Dakota.  They have 4 children (Tim, Stacey, Shaun and Nedra).  While raising their children they loved to camp, fish, and snowmobile and watch their children's sporting endeavors.  During her married life Peggy became a devoted fan of the Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves.  Unfortunately her family could not get her on the Viking band wagon.  Work was another very important aspect of Peggy's life.  She was employed as Business Manager for the Rhame School District and the City of Rhame.  She also held the position of President for the North Dakota Business Managers association for a short time.

Finally, but certainly not least, Peggy adored her grandchildren.  Loved visiting with family and friends.  When the mood was just right she could tell a wickedly funny story.  Then with a twinkle in her eye she would look at you.  You knew she was thinking "you didn't think I had that in me…did you?"

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Joe, John, Jim, Pat and Kay.  She is survived by her husband, Louis; children Tim (Diane) Bergquist, Mandan; Stacey Bergquist, Red Wing, Mn; Shaun Bergquist, Rhame; Nedra Bergquist, Bismarck;  grandchildren John Bergquist, Hazen; Jacob (Terra) Shimek, Mandan; Connor Bergquist, Mandan; Arista Bergquist, Mandan; Noah Bergquist, Rhame; many loved nieces and nephews.
