Patricia Jane Nelson age 75 passed away on Monday March 27th,2023 at home with family by her side after a brief battle with cancer.

Patricia was born on May 23,1947 to Roy and Alice Graver in Oregon City, OR.  She lived most of her young life in the Portland, OR area and graduated from high school there.

After high school she met Fred, they were briefly married and out of this marriage her only daughter Ann Marie was born. They soon divorced. She came to North Dakota to visit one of her best friends Mary and met Robert Nelson and that was all it took for her to move to NorthDakota.Her mom never seem to forgive her for that.  Her and Robert were married soon after in 1971,  and in 1972 they welcomed their first son, Michael. In 1975 James was born and in 1979 Colin was born. She loved to support her children in whatever way she could and was often at their sporting events as they grew up. She loved working with people and being around people. She worked at many local gas stations where she met many regular customers. She retired after Robert passed away in 2014 but still loved to be around people. She also spent a lot of time reading her collection of books and of course watching any John Wayne movie on tv. She loved to watch Murder she wrote and Colombo and also loved NCIS. She loved to go to Oregon and visit Pam and her family.

She also loved to sit and chat with everyone who came over and if she liked you, well you became one of her children.

She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she treasured every moment she got to spend with them.

She is survived by her twin sister Pam Peters, Rapid City, SD, her children AnnMarie( Nathan) Purdy, Rapid City, Michael Nelson, Sioux Falls, SD, James (Amy) Nelson and Colin (Jennifer) Nelson all of Rapid City. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren along with a handful of special people she viewed as children.

She was preceeded in death by her wonderful husband Robert Nelson, her parents, her grandparents on both sides of her family, her brother Michael, A granddaughter Amanda and her brother in law Don Peters. She has a brother Russel who we  have been unable to locate at this time.

Graveside celebration of life will be held May 6th, 2023 at 1 pm,at the Bowman cemetery if the weather allows.
