Martha Trautman Obituary
Martha Moser Trautman, 103 years old, of Jamestown, ND passed away on May 21, 2024, at the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.

Memorial Services for Martha will be August 4, 2024, at 2:00pm at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown, ND.  Pastor Tammy Toepke-Floyd will officiate with internment to follow at Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND.

Martha was born March 25, 1921, near Medina, ND, the daughter of William and Magdalena (Wahl) Moser.  Martha attended country schools in Chase Lake and Iosco Townships and graduated from Medina High School.  She married Emil H. Trautman on May 31, 1941, and they moved to the Trautman Homestead near Cleveland, ND.  They lived on the homestead for 20 years. In 1962, Martha was appointed Postmaster for Cleveland, ND, where she worked for 26 years.  She was also the Cleveland City Auditor for 30 years, a member of Weld Township Homemakers and a 4-H leader.

In 2000, Martha and Emil moved to Meadows Apartments in Jamestown, ND.  Martha loved to volunteer for the Jamestown Hospital Auxiliary.  She especially liked working at the gift shop at the hospital and was named Jamestown Auxiliary Volunteer of the year in 2007.

Martha also enjoyed volunteering at her church, Zion Congregational in Medina, ND.  She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was a member of the church choir.  After moving to Jamestown, she became a member of the First Congregational UCC where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Women's Fellowship and Church Council.

After Emil passed away, Martha moved into the Heritage Centre Assisted Living apartments. She lived there until 2023 when she made her final move to the Ave Maria Village. Martha was a classy, generous, independent and sharp-witted lady who loved her family dearly.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Emil of 62 years, her daughter Paulette (Terry) Reule, four sisters, Dorothy, Deloris, Lorraine and Janice and three brothers, Adolph, Harold and Willis.

Martha is survived by her son, Victor (Kathleen) Trautman, Petersburg, AK, six grandchildren, Lori (Howard) Malloy, Steve (Beth) Reule, Nicole (Mikel) Christopherson, Angela (Chad) Boehm, Willliam (Amy) Trautman and Melissa DiRivera and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Doretta Carrion, Jamestown, ND, and Marilyn Zimmerman, Jamestown, ND, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
