Marlene Palczewski, 80, of Scranton, ND, passed away on August 17, 2014 at the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial for Marlene will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Scranton. Father Stephan Folorunso will celebrate the Mass with burial to follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. There will be a Rosary and Vigil Service for Marlene on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Marlene Joyce Vigoren was born on May 21, 1934 the daughter of Leonard and Mildred (Leines) Vigoren in Buffalo, SD. Marlene was raised in the Buffalo area where she attended school and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1952. Marlene was united in marriage to Stanley Elmer Palczewski on October 4, 1952. After their marriage they made their home on the Palczewski farm where they made it home for 62 years. In June of 2014, Marlene entered the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND. Marlene spent her life raising 9 kids, homemaking, entertaining and cooking. She will be remembered for her caramel rolls, sourdough pancakes, bars, pies, cookies, and wonderful meals. She enjoyed gardening, gambling and visiting and drinking coffee with neighbors, family and friends, and of course playing Pinochle. She always made holidays a special event with her decorating, special meals and pies. She was active in Happy Modernaires Homemakers Club, Pugy's Pub Bowling Team and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Marlene is survived by her husband Stanley, 9 children; son, Jim (Ruth) Palczewski of Bowman, ND and their children; Kenzie, Jaime (Lucas) Fuhrman, Jenna and Kyle, son, Stanley Jr. (Jill) Palczewski of Moorhead, MN, and their children; Jesse, Lindsay (Josh) Costello, daughter, Nancy (Roger) Tow of Moorhead,MN, and their children and grandchildren; Adam (Abby), Ava and Beckett Tow, and Cory Tow; son, Mark Palczewski of Buffalo, WY, and his children and grandchild; Krystal (Eddy) Joyce, Dillon and his son, Brycen Palczewski, and Brittney Palczewski, son Ron (Sheila) Palczewski of Bowman, ND, and their children; Kayla and Karly Palczewski, daughter Joan (David) Wrolstad of Fargo, ND, and their children; Matt and Aaron Wrolstad, son, , daughter, Cindy Dobbs of Fargo, ND, and her daughter, Andrea Dobbs, daughter, Kim Jore of Fargo, ND and daughter, Lisa (Todd) Christensen of Rapid City, SD, brothers, Laverne, Melroy (Paulette) Vigoren and sisters, Jean Burghduff and Venoy (Melvin) Stafford.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Mildred Vigoren.
Memorials are suggested to the Sacred Heart Parish of Scranton.
