Margaret Wallman's Obituary
Margaret (Stricherz) Wallman, 78, of Rhame, North Dakota passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Southwest Health Care in Bowman, North Dakota. Funeral Services for Margaret will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Bowman Lutheran Church in Bowman, ND. Pastor Galen Strand and Pastor Chuck Swanson will officiate with burial to follow in Bethany Cemetery, Rhame, ND. Visitation for Margaret will begin Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Southwest Sunset Care Chapel, Bowman, ND at 4:00 PM.
Margaret (Stricherz) Wallman was born to Fred and Bessie (Kalina) Stricherz on May 24, 1931 in Rhame, ND. She went to school at Nebo and Langberg, south of Rhame, ND and graduated from Bowman High School, Bowman, ND in 1950. She attended Business College in Dickinson, ND for 1 year, then taught school at Nebo and Mud Butte for a couple years. On August 1, 1952 in Rhame, ND Margaret married the love of her life, Albert Wallman. They had many wonderful years together on the farm south of Rhame until 2007, when Margaret became ill with cancer. She became a resident of at Southwest Health Care where she was very happy and made many friends with residents and staff.
She was a loving mother of Dennis, Don, Daryl, Doug and Michele. She loved raising chickens and sheep, gardening, milking cows, crocheting and cooking. She always commented on the fact that she was bitten by a rattlesnake at the age of four and survived.
She was in the Bowman High School marching band and played the Tuba. She received a band scholarship to attend Dickinson Teachers college. Many people were recipients of her art of crocheting, she won many awards for her doilies.
She worked along side Albert every day no matter the weather conditions and enjoyed each and every aspect of the ranch life.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Albert, her children, Dennis of Buffalo, SD; Donald (Rhonda) of Bowman, ND; Daryl (Shelby) of Rhame, ND; Doug of Buffalo, SD; and Michele (Fred) Hulm of Faith, SD; .
Grandchildren, Lindsay (Brandon) Morford; Lacy Wallman; Randa Wallman all of Ft. Collins, CO; Jessica (Adam) Grinsteinner, St Paul, MN; John Wallman, Grand Forks, ND; Casey Wallman, Iraq; Tate Wallman, Rhame, ND; Nicholas (Claudia), Apache Junction, AZ; Amy Hulm, Faith,SD; Andrea Hulm (Billy) Bowbells, ND; Anita Hulm, Torrington, WY; Great Grandchildren, Kyle, Keenan, Ali Morford, Laraya, Isabel and Makayla all of Ft. Collins, CO.
Sister Marilyn Ludlum, Williston, ND, also brother-in-laws Allan (Linda) Wallman, Rhame, ND; Clayton (Della) Wallman, Rhame, ND; Earl (Shirley) Wallman, Oakland, OR, along with many numerous nieces and nephews.
