Mae C. Kalisiak's Obituary
Mae C. Kalisiak, 89, of Bowman, ND, died on June 19, 2010 at the West River Regional Hospital in Hettinger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Scranton. Fr. David Morman and Fr. Joseph Chipsom will con-celebrate the Mass with burial to follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. There will be a Rosary and Scripture Service on Monday, June 21, 2010 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mae Moravec was born on May 15, 1921 in Bowman, ND, the daughter of Conrad and Agnes (Schubert) Moravec. She lived with her parents on a farm east of the Chalky Buttes in Slope County where she received her grade school education. In 1934 the family moved to Bowman, ND. She graduated from Bowman High School and attended Dickinson State College where she received her teaching certificate. Mae then taught school for a couple of years in the Hebron area.
On September 9, 1941 she married John S. Kalisiak at the St. Peter and Paul Church in Amidon, ND. To this union two daughters were born, Sherril and Sandra. Mae was employed by the Scranton Equity Exchange starting as a bookkeeper and later as office manager from 1956 to 1983. She always had a smile for all patrons and assisted them in any way she could. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Guild. She also served as treasurer of the church for many years.
She is survived by her daughters; Sherril (Richard) Keil of Fargo, ND, Sandra (Leland) Domagala of Scranton, ND, grandchildren; Jolee (Kevin) Niemeyer of Bismarck, ND, Janell Banks of Farmington, MN, JaNae Keil and Rick Cote of Fargo, Jenny (Chad) Marsden, Moorehead, MN, Danny (Sandra) Domagala, Bismarck, ND and Tracy (Carla) Domagala of Bismarck, ND, great grandchildren; Chelsey and Kyle Niemeyer, Owen and Gavin Marsden, Brandon and Melissa Domagala and Hunter Domagala.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband; John, one brother; Connie, sisters; Irene, Josephine and Sam.
