Mabel "Dawn" Gress, 74, of Mandan, ND, passed away on September 13, 2021 at her home.  Funeral Services for Dawn will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel in Bowman.  Fr. Jarad Wolf will officiate with burial to follow in the Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, SD.  Visitation for Dawn will be on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 12-9 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel.

Mabel Dawn Belden was born on February 21, 1947 in Belle Fourche, SD to Bob and Tootie Belden. She grew up on a ranch northeast of Ludlow, SD and later moved with her family to Buffalo, SD. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1965.

Dawn married Dennis Gress on October 22, 1969 and they were blessed with three children: Darren Lee, Dustin Ray, and Bunnie Marie. While her sons were in high school, there were numerous kids that came through her house. She loved being a second mom to all of their friends and often kept them in line with a fly swatter. They lived in Buffalo until 1989 and then moved to the Gress family farm in Mandan, ND. The most precious time of her life was spent caring for her daughter, Bunnie.

Dawn enjoyed playing sudoku puzzles and had a passion for gardening. She loved going on coffee outings with Laverne and Mary and spending her Memorial Days with Shelia and Larine. She had many dear friends and family, but held a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dawn looked forward to her calls from Maggie and FaceTiming her grandchildren whenever she could. She made many trips back to Buffalo to watch her grandkids numerous sporting events, proms, graduations, etc. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends but we will cherish our memories with her forever.

Dawn is survived by her loving sons Darren (Tammy) and Dustin (Melynda). She is also survived by her grandchildren Jade (Tres) Hill, Trent (Haley) Gress, Karli (Cody) Holmes, Tate, Trevor and Kylee Gress; and great grandchildren Hayes and Normandy Hill, Ridger Gress, Maelina,  Emersyn, Berklee and Lennyn Holmes.

Dawn is preceded in death by her husband Dennis Gress; daughter Bunnie Marie; parents, Bob and Tootie; brothers Buck and George; and sisters Carol (Bunnie) and LeOne.
