LouAnn was born June 20, 1954 in Hettinger, ND to Carol (Olson) and Leonard Jacobs. She was raised on the family farm with her 4 siblings. She attended Reeder school until she graduated in 1972 and proceeded to attend DSU for two years. On November 2, 1974 she married Benjamin Eaton and they moved out to the Eaton family farm at Lindsay, MT. They moved on to Dickinson, ND, then New England, ND, and finally settled on their farm south of Reeder. They were blessed with two sons, Jonathon and Justin.
LouAnn was primarily a farm wife, and so much more. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Reeder Altar Guild, Reeder Jayceettes and Jaycees, and Lions Club. One of her most memorable trips and highlights of her life was when she went to the Vatican in Italy, Fatima in Portugal, Lourdes in France, and getting to meet Pope Francis with her church family. She enjoyed the pinochle club and always hosted the December game. She had many creative hobbies including ceramics, stained glass, and crocheting, but her biggest love was sewing. This led to quilting and becoming a partner in Buffalo Creek Quilt Shop in Hettinger, ND. She loved helping people, and was a passionate volunteer EMT and first responder for 25 years. She was also an avid supporter of the ND Army National Guard 141 when they were deployed in Iraq after 9/11. From that time forward there was always a flag flying in the yard. She was an advocate for the Reeder fire department, DPEC, organizations such as FBLA, FFA, along with local charities and fundraisers. But above all, she was a mother and grandmother. She was Grandma Lou, Gramma Lamb, and Auntie to her loved ones and family. She cherished and enjoyed raising her kids along with all her grandkids, nieces and nephews, and she was a second mom to many extras that tagged along. A weekend with a pickup game of basketball in the boys bedroom or a sleepover of nieces, nephews and grandkids in the living room was the norm.
LouAnn is survived by Ben Eaton, her husband of 49 years, her parents Leonard and Carol Jacobs of Reeder, her sons Jonathon (Ria) and Justin (Anna) of Reeder, her grandkids Gabriel, Chloe, Landon, Talli, Romana, Austin and Tamryn, her brothers Gary (Peg), Paul (Jolene) and Jay (Kathy), her sister Marilee (Bob) Wokal, along with many nieces and nephews and all the extra kids that loved her as their extra mother/grandmother.
