LeRoy Raymond Grosz, 75, Bowman, died October 16th, 2013, at Southwest Health Care Services in Bowman. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Bowman Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Pastor Charles Swanson will officiate with burial at the Bowman Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m to 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home in Bowman. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
LeRoy R. Grosz was born January 8, 1938 at McClusky to August and Esther (Heil) Grosz. He was raised and educated in the Skogmo/McClusky area. After high school graduation, LeRoy attended medical laboratory school in Minneapolis, MN graduating in 1963 as a Registered Medical Technician. Upon graduation, LeRoy began his career at the Stanley Hospital in Stanley, ND where he remained until 1968. In June of 1968, LeRoy began employment with St. Luke's Tri State Hospital where he retired after 34 years of service. LeRoy received his national certification for Medical Laboratory Personnel in 1985 and was a long time member of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.
In May 1965, LeRoy married Susan Spooner in Stanley, ND. To this union three children were born. On March 23, 1996, LeRoy married his best friend and life partner, Valerie Martian. Together, LeRoy and Valerie enjoyed operating their places of business, The Sharivar Steakhouse and The Gateway Restaurant and spending time together with their family and grandchildren. LeRoy's children and grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He made sure they knew how important they were to him and how proud of them he was. LeRoy enjoyed dancing, bowling, camping, playing the harmonica and accordion. LeRoy enjoyed taking road trips with his son Charles, whether it was to Deadwood, SD or to pick up the many cars Charles purchased.
LeRoy will be deeply missed by his wife, Valerie of Bowman, his sons, Eugene (Danette) Loder, their daughter Mardi of Scranton; Charles Loder of Bowman and his children Breanna and Shaylyn; Kimberly Loder-Lecoe, Custer, SD her children Mariah and Dalton. Step-Children Gary (Yolanda) Martian, Buffalo, SD, their children Jewel (Randy) Lyons, Medora (Corey) Stevenson, Tara, Miranda, Royale and Rowin; Donna (Damon) Binek, their daughter Druanna Jacobs of Bowman; Scott (Sarah) Martian of Bowman and their children DJ, Cade, Alyssa and Brenna. His great grandchildren Adeline, Emerson and Garrison Lyons and Tessla Stevenson. his sister, Rose Santini (Steve), Hazen, ND; nephews, Mel Grosz, Jr., Minneapolis, MN, Steven Santini, Bismarck and niece, Jessica Santini-Levenhagen, Grand Forks, ND.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, ElRuth, Janice and Sharon; his brothers, Melvin and Lester and granddaughter Amanda Martian.
