Laura S. (Soderstrom) Peters, 91, of Bowman, ND, passed away peacefully in her sleep
on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Southwest Healthcare Hospital in Bowman.
Laura Soderstrom was born on June 7, 1931, in Rhame, North Dakota, the only
daughter and first child of Engelbert and Annie Soderstrom. Her early years were spent
on the family homestead in Griffin. They moved to Bowman when Laura was a young
girl. Laura graduated from Bowman High School in 1949 where she was honored to be
the Valedictorian of her graduating class.
In 1950, Laura married Eugene Peters in Bowman. Together they raised their family of
four sons, Larry, John, Wade and David. For a few years they lived and worked in
various areas of the Midwest. Eventually they returned to Bowman where Laura ran a
business and pursued her profound interest in local and family history.
Laura's interests knew no bounds, and her quest for knowledge was fed though reading
books, engaging others, and traveling.
She will be remembered as a steadfast supporter of family and friends, especially of her
sons and their extended families.
Laura was predeceased by her parents, Engelbert (1974) and Annie (1989), her
brothers Stanley (1996) and Conrad (2017), and her son Wade (2002). She is survived
by Eugene Peters, her sons Larry, John, David and their spouses Virginia, Roberta and
Tresha. She is survived by and was a proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren and
twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Laura will be dearly missed.

Hospital in Bowman for their outstanding care and compassion.
Laura will be interred at a private family service in the Bowman Cemetery. Krebsbach
and Kulseth Funeral Services in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please
consider a donation to your local library.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Laura to be held Saturday April
29, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm in the Dakota Room at the Bowman Lodge.
