Larry was born on February 20, 1953 in Spearfish, SD, the son of Junior and Dorothy (Iverson) Parfrey. Larry was raised in Buffalo and received his education there, graduating from Buffalo High School. After graduation Larry attended the School of Mines in Rapid City for a year where he studied Electrical Engineering. After his time at school Larry moved out to Baltimore, MD to work with his brother Jim at his concrete construction company. Thirteen years later Larry made a solo trip across the country before being drawn home to Buffalo, SD, where he met the love of his life and adventure partner, Ann Thompson. Larry and Ann were united in marriage on September 29, 1990 at the Grand River Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Before Larry and Ann were married, they traveled to Tacoma, WA, where they sailed to the San Juan Islands with Lyle and Monica on their sailboat. Every year for their anniversary, Larry and Ann would travel to Custer State Park for the Buffalo Roundup. To this union, three children were born; Therese, Kelsey, and Billy.

Larry was a dedicated contract pumper in the oilfield and proud owner of Parfrey Pumping. Outside of work, Larry had many passions in life. He loved bringing his family out to sight in his rifles, target practice, shoot prairie dogs, and reload shells. He also enjoyed capturing photos with his camera, building RC airplanes, spending time at Lyle's shop, giving long life advice to his children, camping, and cooking, where he worked to perfect his cream mush recipe. Larry and Ann spent a lot of time outdoors. Larry would text Ann after a day of work to take the kayaks out to Gardner Lake or go for a bike ride. He also loved the family dog, Riley.

The last two weeks of Larry's life were very special to Ann. Larry injured his shoulder so he took some time off from work and he and Ann were able to spend time together.

Larry is survived by his wife; Ann, children; Therese, Kelsey and Billy, siblings; Janette (Joel) Coulter, Jim Parfrey, Stan (Carol) Parfrey and Dotty Parfrey, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; Junior and Dorothy, brothers; Lawrence, Lyle and Lester Parfrey
