Larry E. Olsen, 68 of Bowman, ND, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012 at his home in Bowman.

Funeral Services for Larry will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Bowman Lutheran Church. Pastor Charles Swanson will officiate with burial to follow in the Bowman Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 9-9 at the Krebsbach/Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel.

Larry Eugene Olsen was born on August 8, 1943 to Clara (Domagala) and Martin Olsen, Sr. He was reared on the family farm southwest of Bowman. He attended Grand River country school and graduated 8th grade there. Larry helped out local farmers for a number of years as well as working at Colloid, and eventually he started working in the oil fields. He did that for 40 plus years. After retiring, Larry helped his grandson salvage scrap metal and supervised the building of derby cars. He also enjoyed planting a garden of vegetables each year. On June 29, 1963 Larry was united in marriage Betty Lamb at Rhame, ND. They lived on the Olsen farm for several years, raising their three children and eventually moving to Bowman where they lived their married life. Betty passed away November 16, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents Martin and Clara Olsen, and a granddaughter, Shyann.

Larry is survived by his children, Ron (Emily) of Elgin, ND, David of Miles City, MT, and Wanda (Dave) of Bowman. His sisters, Ardys (Phil) Menanger of Renton, WA and Mariam "Punky" Bergquist of Bismarck, ND, brothers, Martin Jr (Debbie) of Mandan, ND, Dean (Sue)of Bowman, ND and Bobby and (Clee) of Bowman and his grandchildren, David, Jr., Megan, Jennifer, Josh and Dustin Olsen.
