Kenny was born on October 18, 1934 in Camp Crook, SD, the first son of four boys born to Arthur and Ellen (Kunsman) Woodley. Kenny graduated from Scranton High School in 1952. He drove cattle to Sioux City, IA, as his first job out of school. Kenny knew the love of his life since grade school. Kenny and Verna Boushele were united in marriage on December 8, 1954. Kenny and Verna had three sons, Monty, Randy and Lane and one daughter, Janiene.
Kenny and Verna began selling paint out of their home and then the business grew into what we all know as Woodley's Construction Supply for more than 60 years. Aside from being a busy business owner, Kenny took great pride in the community. He was President of Roosevelt Custer Regional Council, on the Board of ND Lumberman's Association, a co-founder of Yesterday's Farmers and was elected Mayor of Bowman for 26 years. In their spare time, Kenny and Verna enjoyed spending time at their farm, fixing old cars and tractors, as well as square dancing. Although he had a love for business and farming, Kenny's greatest love was his family. Kenny was an amazing, patient, admirable and kind husband, dad and grandpa. For many years, he was a great businessman and a community leader to all. If you had the pleasure of knowing Kenny, you know he is one of the best and a great leader of his family; a true patriarch.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years Verna, daughter, Janiene Teske, and sons, Monty (Carrie) Woodley, Randal (Susan) Woodley and Lane (Joan) Woodley, grandchildren, Bryan, Jason, Kelsey, Matt, Stephanie, Jamie, Kayla, Carter, Jada, Kara, Morgan, Miah along with 13 great grandchildren and brothers, Ernie and Delbert Woodley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ellen Woodley, son in law, Gary Teske, brother, Roger, sisters-in-law, Alice, Caroline and Rita, grandsons, Nathan Bootz and Brandon Woodley, in-laws, Mary and Vern Boushele.
