Kenneth Sabe, 75 of Bowman, ND, died on January 22, 2010 at the Southwest Healthcare Long Term Center in Bowman.

Funeral Services for Kenneth will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Southwest Healthcare Chapel. Pastor Mary Peterson will officiate with burial to follow at a later date in the Mamre Cemetery, rural Gascoyne, ND.

Kenneth Sabe was born on September 19, 1934 along with his twin brother Keith on the family farm south of Scranton, ND, the son of Oscar N. and Nora (Hauger) Sabe. He and Keith were baptized on the farm shortly after their birth due to risks involved for Nora having twins. Kenneth was raised on the farm and received his education at Haley through the eighth grade. He then attended high school in Scranton where he graduated in 1952. After high school, Kenneth worked at the Scranton Equity until he moved to Fargo, ND where he attended barber school and business college for 2 years. Kenneth received his barbers licence and worked as a barber for a few months before enlisting into the United States Army. After being discharged for 90 days, Kenneth re-enlisted in the Service and was stationed in Hawaii. In 1966 Kenneth moved along with his family to Los Angeles, CA where began managing Safeway Grocery Stores. In 1973 Kenneth moved to New York where he managed Grand Union Grocery Stores until retiring in June of 1997 where he then moved to Florida. In December of 1997, Kenneth suffered a stroke. He remained in Florida for less than a year until moving to Hettinger and then into the Southwest Healthcare Long Term center in Bowman.

Kenneth was a member of the Mamre Lutheran Church, Bowman Lutheran Church, 1st Lutheran Church of Torrence and the Haley Lutheran Church. He enjoyed all animals and enjoyed reading, especially Pet Fancy Magazine. Kenneth loved taking his dogs for walks for they were the loves of his life. He enjoyed all the activities that went on at the nursing home. He will be deeply missed. Kenneth's family would like to express there thanks to the Southwest Healthcare Services in Bowman for all there kindness and acts of hard work.

Kenneth is survived by his three sons, Kevin (Cathy) Sabe of Scranton, ND, Brent (Lisa) Sabe of Kent, WA and Stephan Sabe of Kent, WA, brothers, Odell Sabe of Scranton, ND and Norris (Rita) Sabe of Rapid City, SD, grandchildren, Jamie (Ben) Foster, Bridgettte (Ryan) Prybil, Melissa Brown, Kenneth Sabe, Sarah Sabe and Ashley Sabe, sister-in-law, Cleo Sabe of Bowman, best friend, Guido Caponigro and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Nora, mother of his boys, Francine Sabe, brother Keith Sabe and sister-in-law, Cathy Sabe.
