Memorial Services for Judy E. Ensign will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Judith "Judy" E. Ensign was born on February 26, 1950, in Hettinger, ND to Eugenie and Clayton Ensign.  She was raised in Scranton, ND, graduating from high school in 1968.  She went on to graduate from Jamestown College Magna Sum Laude in nursing in 1972, thus starting a life of caring and nurturing of patients, family and anyone she came in contact with.

Judy's early nursing jobs were in California, Wisconsin and New Mexico.  She finally landed in Denver, Colorado and obtained a Master of Science Degree from the University of Colorado in 1980 and began her career as a Nurse Practitioner.  She worked many years for Presbyterian St. Luke's before starting up the PMS treatment center.  She soon met her husband and love of her life Stan Adams.  They were married for 32 years.  Her professional career continued at Conception Reproductive for 7 years, affecting many current and future lives.  She then worked for Planned Parenthood for 6 years providing healthcare for women.  Her last 6 years of her career were spent doing family medicine for Smart Care Family Medical and Take Care Health.  Additionally, she started Colorado Partners In Health providing sports physicals for junior and high schools all around the Denver Metro Area.

Judy's favorite activities were walking, running, sky diving (1 time, 1 broken leg), going to movies and caring for her much loved dogs Einstein and Carson.  She always enjoyed the time she spent with her family in Colorado, North Dakota and Wyoming.

Judy faced and overcame many challenges, including M.S. and breast cancer twice.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents Eugenie and Clayton, brothers Richard and David.  She is survived by her husband Stan, stepsons Micah and Chase, sister Bonnie (best friend) and brothers Gene, Gordon, Gail, Allen, sisters-in-law Linda Carleen, Leona, Laurel, Vicki and brothers-in-law Mike and Jimmy, also survived by many nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
