Judith "Judy" Anne Brackel (née Jemtrud) died unexpectedly and peacefully in Rapid City Regional Hospital on October 12 ^th , 2019 in Rapid City, SD, at the age of 73.

Funeral Services for Judy will be on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bowman Lutheran Church. Pastor Renee Johnson will officiate with burial to follow in the Bowman Cemetery. Visitation for Judy will be on Monday, October 14, 2019 from 12-6 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel and from 7-9 at the Bowman Lutheran Church with a family and friends service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Bowman Lutheran Church.

Judy was born on October 9, 1946 to Lewis and Laura (Armstrong) Jemtrud in Rolette, ND. She lived at Mylo and went to school at Pleasant Valley Township #1 until she graduated from Wolford High School in 1964. She then graduated from Jack's Hairstylist College in Bismarck, ND, and was subsequently employed as a manager at Jack's Hairstylists in Underwood, ND. It is here that she met Lynn Brackel while he was teaching Music and German at the Underwood school system. They wed on August 15, 1969, at the Valle Lutheran Church in Rolette, ND. Shortly thereafter they moved to Bowman, ND, to fulfill their lifetime commitment to each other, their family and the many close friends they have from the Bowman community.

Judy was ever present and active in Bowman in so many ways. She often and fondly recalled the close relationships formed at Bowman Implement, Lasting Visions Flowers, the Bowman Lutheran Church, the "Birthday Club", the community golf course, Bowman-Haley Lake, Yesterday's Farmers, and so many more places and events. She was an accomplished quilter, gifting and donating her prized efforts to loved ones and worthy charitable fundraisers. Judy loved spending time with others, enjoying a glass of wine and a good laugh, and taking in the beauty of her surroundings.

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Lynn R. Brackel; children, Bill and Lynna' Speier, Glen and Lorelle Davies, and Bradley and Judy "Bunny" Brackel; siblings Robert of Shelley, ID, Otis Dale "O.D." of Leesburg, FL, Alve of Vadnais Heights, MN, and Don of Fargo, ND. Her cherished grandchildren Caralissa, Caitlyn, Siteris, Kyleigh and Taylor will miss their grandmother very much.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ron, sister Arlene and her parents.

Her funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm at the Bowman Lutheran Church, with a reception to follow. Rev. Renee Johnson will officiate the ceremony.
