Johanna Ellen Njos, 30 of Rhame ND went home to be with her Savior on March 23, 2013. Johanna was born November 22, 1982 to John Lee and Ellen Njos in Hettinger ND. She was raised on their family ranch west of Rhame along with her brother Chad, sisters Krista and Angela and younger brother Ben. She graduated from Rhame High school in 2001. She then went on to Dickinson State University to major in elementary education, and art with a concentration in gifted and talented education. She was then employed with Dickinson Public Schools as an elementary art and also a gifted and talented teacher. Wherever Johanna went she left a lasting impression. She had a very special place in many people's hearts. She also had an immense love for children, not only for her nieces, nephews and Godchildren but also her students. She also had a Christ-like love in her heart for everyone she met, especially the poor. Her smile lit up a room and her laughter was contagious. She had an incredible sense of humor and loved to laugh, mostly at herself. There was never a dull moment when Johanna was around, whether it was spouting off one-liners from her favorite movies or having a serious conversation about faith. She loved to be outside, especially when it involved waterskiing, swimming, kayaking or just going for walks. But the most important part of Johanna's life was her journey in her faith, and through her travels to places like Guatemala, Jamaica, Medjugorie and Ethiopia she saw the face of Christ in the poor which led her to a deep desire to do whatever it takes to serve them. Attending daily mass, praying the rosary, attending adoration, bible study or her prayer life led her to a deep relationship with Christ and a desire to do his will. She had a gift of seeing the beauty in all of God's creations and loved to capture it through her photography and art. God blessed Johanna with many gifts and talents which she in turn used to bless all of those around her. She was so much too so many, and will be missed immensely in so many ways.
Johanna was welcomed into heaven by an infant brother, Joby and infant sister Jennifer. And also by her foster "brother" Charles Taylor and Grandparents John and Alona Njos, Leonard and Clara Fischer along with many other family members. She is survived by her loving parents John Lee and Ellen Njos, brother Chad (Amanda) with sons Tobias and Zakai. Sister Krista (Cory) with daughters Kendall and Bryanna. Sister Angela with sons Noah and Jonah and brother Benjamin. Along with truckloads of aunts, uncles and cousins.
