Joe Ann was born Dec. 3, 1938 to Gatsie Mancill and Henry Clay Bradley near Brewton, Alabama. As a young girl, she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized. On February 12, 1960 she married Douglas Ballweber and moved to North Dakota a few years later.
She was a very active member in her church leading Bible studies, mentoring young girls in their faith and leading Vacation Bible School and Sunday school classes. She also spent many years working with the elderly who became very attached to her. She was a very compassionate and patient soul and was certain of her salvation, she said, "Jesus is coming soon, I am ready to go." Joe Ann also belonged to the Elgin Lions and Elgin Legion Auxiliary.
Joe Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister: JD, Willie D, and Glenda McKenzie and by one son: Justin.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters and one son: Belinda and Dave Urlacher (Elijah, Alicia and Jesse), Roxanna and Gerard Peterson (Melissa and Samantha), Lea and Kevin Tang (David Ballweber) and Jason and Sarah Snavely (Amber and Kathy Jo) and two sisters and two brothers: Buddy Lewis and Robert of Dixie, Alabama, Margaret and Ray Ashworth of Berrydale Florida and Carolyn Bradley of Tallahassee Florida and by five great grandchildren: Lily, Kasa, Deja, Cheyenne, and Aiden.
Her greatest joy was time with the Lord and her grandchildren and trips to Florida to visit family.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her well, but we hold to the hope just as she did that this life is not the end and if we know Jesus, we will see her soon.
