Graveside Services for Janice R. Speiser will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Bowman Cemetery.

Janice Ruth Austin Speiser, age 86 of Billings Montana passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Janice was born February 10, 1939 in Bowman, ND, the 11th child and only daughter of Leslie William and Edna Luella Austin. In 1951 Janice lost her mother.

Janice received her education in Marmath N.D. graduating as valedictorian in 1957 and attended business school in Bismark N.D., then in 1962 she and her daughters moved to Belle Fourche S.D. where she lived and worked until 1979 when she moved to Billings.

Janice worked at Billings Clinic for 26 years before retiring in 2005.

Janice is survived by 2 daughters, Debra Ann Bertsch and Edna Christine Flanery (Bill) of Billings, sisters-in laws Betty (Bill) and Sharon (Dennis), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by her son-in-law Bill, her parents and 10 older brothers, Leslie Jr.(Helen), Dode, James (Mabel), Max, Stanley, Winfield (Beverly), Lowell (Lucille), Bill, Carol (Zola), and Dennis.

Janice's passions were family, pets, home, gardening, and sewing. She embraced western culture and loved telling stories about life on the family ranch in the N.D. Badlands with 10 older brothers.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 11:00 in the Bowman Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to follow.

Memorial donations can be sent to St Jude Hospital and Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.
