With her loving family by her side, Hope Evangeline Seifert passed away on Valentines Day, Feb.14, 2019 and slipped into the presence of her loving Heavenly Father. She was gently and peacefully lifted into the arms of the One who loves her best.
Hope E Wick was born on July 26, 1925 to Amanda and Fritz Wick in a farmhouse south of Rhame, North Dakota. She attended elementary school in the Rhame countryside graduating from Bowman High School in 1943. She worked as a legal secretary in Bowman until she met a wonderful, kind and handsome man named Glen Seifert. They were married on Sept. 24,1945 in a double wedding with Glen's brother Junior Seifert and his wife Jeanne in Scranton at the Assembly of God church.
Hope and Glen began their life together and made their home on a farm and ranch south of Scranton. They spent 54 years working together as partners to work the land, raise cattle, and raise a family. To their union were born Glenda, Charlene, Michael and Scott.
Hope's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially enjoying attending all of the activities of her grandkids as they grew older. She loved working the land and worked tirelessly helping Glen with whatever needed to be done, driving tractors, trucks, fixing fence, chasing cattle, or making trips to town for parts. One of the things she loved the best was driving her little green lawnmower all around the farm to trim every blade of grass to make sure that the lawns were immaculately manicured. Her home and family were her pride and joy.
Glen passed away in 1999 and Hope continued to be active with on the farm and ranch, helping Michael and Karen continue the family traditions and maintaining the family farm and ranch. She lovingly nurtured all of her grandchildren and kept them in her daily thoughts and prayers. At the time of her death, she resided at Augusta Place, Bismarck, North Dakota. During her stay there, she was loved by so many of her caregivers to whom she brought joy and love each day that she was there.
Hope had an undying faith in the Lord and it never faltered as she met life's challenges knowing God had a plan for her. Her love was unconditional and she never missed an opportunity to share it. Her quiet and gentle spirit touched everyone around her and her grace and beautiful smile abounded no matter the situation. She was gentle but strong, a woman of faith and certainly the love of our lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glen in 1999, her parents, Amanda and Fritz Wick, her brother Fritz and 4 sisters: Fern, Arlette, Rosella, Faith, and an infant grandchild
She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her greatly- "How lucky we are to have had something that makes saying goodbye so hard." "The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes that she wears, the figure that she carries or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes. Because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul- in the caring that she lovingly gives, the grace and compassion that she shows. And the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows…"
