Goldie Florence Susag was born on October 20, 1929, in Rhame, ND, the daughter of John and Olida (Reiersgaard) Susag.  Goldie was raised on the family farm south of Rhame and she attended grades 1-8 at Nebo Grade School and then graduating from Bowman High School in 1948.  Goldie was united in marriage to Myron Schaaf on June 22, 1949.  After their marriage they made their home on the Schaaf family ranch where they continued to live until retiring.  They then moved into Bowman.  Goldie was active in the Bethany Lutheran Church for years.  There was always a cup of coffee and a homemade cookie or bar when anyone came over.  Goldie worked side by side with Myron on the farm.  After retiring, Goldie and Myron enjoyed traveling and wintering in Texas.  They also enjoyed a good trip to Deadwood occasionally.  Goldie was always reading a book, magazine or paper.  She never stopped reading all the way til the end.  Most of all she loved her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

Goldie is survived by her son, Wade (Janet) Schaaf of Bowman and their daughters; Heather (Royce) Salzsieder of Bowman and their children; Brodey and Adyson and Casey (Chance) Lermeny of Reva, SD, and their children; Kaylee, Collin and Crosby.  Daughter, Melody (Dean) Pearson of Bowman and their sons; Michael Pearson of Bowman, Todd Pearson of Bismarck and Jeffery Pearson of Bowman, brother-in-law, Harold Schuh and sister-in-law, Peg Boyce and numerous nieces and nephews.
