Obituary

Gladys was born June 25, 1932. She passed away October 3, 2017 at the age of 85. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Scranton, ND. Fr. Charles Zins will celebrate the Mass and there will be a Rosary and Vigil Service on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Scranton.
Gladys grew up in Stillwater Township in ND. On July 21, 1952, Gladys married John Sipma. They began their life together on the same farm near Scranton, ND and lived there until John retired and they moved to Penrose, Colorado. To this union five children were born: Florence, Dianna, Randy, Debbie and Lance. After John's death she married Preston Mangus.
Gladys was known for being a hard worker. She always helped outside of the house on the farm as well as keeping her house up. She was always ready to have company. To her it was worth the work to have people around. She loved to have fun!
She drove bus for many years. She loved the school kids and enjoyed driving them to their events. Everyone who knew Gladys knew she was a good dancer who loved to dance. She could work all day, but was never too tired to go dancing.
After moving to Colorado she worked in a greenhouse, the Kwik Stop and tended bar. She missed the people and the comradery that she had in ND. She always said at least I'm seeing people while I work.
Gladys is survived by her children: Dianna (Roland) Mihulka, Randy Sipma and Lance Sipma, Eleven Grandchildren: Logan (Justine) Thompson, Rocky (Melissa) Thompson, Kerstin (JJ) Stevenson, Eric (Lisa) Holgerson, Trinity (Eric) Drennan, Chad Sipma, Amber (Tom) Lewis, Misty Sipma, Jason Sipma, Kraig Sipma and Debbie (Jason) Olds and eighteen great grandchildren, sister Melva Czywczynski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sipma, her daughters: Florence Pierson and Debbie Palm, Preston Mangus, Oscar and Dora Pierce, Lucille Leitgeb, and Ethel Hyke.
