Gail F. Mandal, 87 of Bowman, ND formerly of Scranton, ND died on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the West River Regional Hospital in Hettinger, ND.

Funeral Services for Gail will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton. Pastor Mary Peterson will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

Gail Francis Ellefson was born on March 2, 1924 in Bucyrus, ND, the daughter of Clarence and Alma (Peterson) Ellefson. As a young girl, Gail was raised and educated in the Bucyrus area. On March 9, 1946 Gail was united in marriage to Einar Mandal in Dickinson, ND. Gail and Einar raised four children, Peggy, Pamela, Rick and Randy.

Gail enjoyed many things in life from playling cards with her Bridge Club, golfing in her younger days, baking, hunting and fishing with Einar and she really enjoyed her time working with Home Health in Bowman County. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Sranton.

Gail is survived by her Children; Pamela Shaw, Detroit, MI, Rick Mandal of Bismarck and Randy Mandal of Scranton, grandchildren, J.J., LaRissa, Duke, Shellie, Scott, Kevin and Spencer, six great grandchildren, sisters; Marilyn Castello of New Mexico and Corrine Hummel of Bismarck and son in law, John Gruba.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Einar, daughter, Peggy, and two brothers, Mervin and Donald.
