Fred Nass, Rhame, ND, left us to ride free on the wild side March 12th, 2025. He was born

Fred Drue Nass to Melvin and Mavis Nass in Cando, ND, in1962. He joined his only brother,

Ray.

After graduating from high school in Cando, he attended college in Bottineau, ND. This gave

him the skills to begin his career with SCS/NRCS in Jamestown, ND, as an engineering

technician. Most of his 30+ year career was spent in Bowman, ND, but he had worked in much

of the state throughout his tenure. Fred was highly regarded by his colleagues, contractors,

and clients for his vast knowledge in his profession. His gentle nature, inquiring mind, and

easy laugh endeared him to many.

Fred spent a lot of time helping friends on farms and ranches, traveling, making wooden bowls,

riding his motorcycle, and being on the Bowman County Fair board. After his retirement, he

enjoyed boondocking in Arizona and meeting new friends there.

Fred requested no funeral nor service, but many will surely raise a toast to him and have stories

to tell for years to come. We will miss your hearty laugh, Fred. We hope your rides are smooth

and easy.

Fred was pre-deceased by Melvin and Mavis Nass and leaves behind his brother Ray (Donna) Nass, nephew Korey Nass, and Niece KayLee Nass.
