Florence Marie Brengle's Obituary
Florence Brengle, 76, of Ladner, SD, passed away at her home on October 5, 2014.
Funeral Services for Florence will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Ladner Lutheran Church. Pastor Susan Villmow-Fox will officiate with burial to follow in the Ladner Lutheran Cemetery. There will be visitation for Florence at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, Ocotber 9, 2014 from 9-9.
Florence Marie Gunderson was born on November 11, 1937 on the Gunderson Ranch near Ladner, SD, the daughter of Arnold and Selma (Siverson) Gunderson. She was reared in the Ladner area and attended rural country school until she attended and graduated from Harding County High School in Bufffalo, SD. Florence then attended and graduated from Secretarial School in Rapid City, SD and then worked for some of the local attorneys in Rapid City. One evening, Florence attended a Dance in Reva, SD, where she met the love of her life, William Brengle. Florence and William were united in marriage on May 9, 1959. After their marriage they moved to Rapid City where Bill could attend College. In 1967, they moved back to Harding County after purchasing a ranch near Ladner and raised their family, Monica, Than and Carla.
Florence was a wonderful lady who was a very hard worker, helping out with the daily activities of running a ranch. She was known for her strong Faith and even helped out with teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, riding horse and gardening. However, most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her grandchildren dearly.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Monica Parfrey, son, Than Brengle and son-in-law, Leroy Hansen, her grandchildren, Tucker, Shayde, Tate Brengle, Kirsti, Samuel, Charlene, Jonathan, Justin and Shelbi Hansen, Dalton and Colton Pacetti and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Selma, husband, Bill, daughter, Carla Hansen, son-in-law, Lyle Parfrey, grandson, Tyrel Brengle and brothers, Alfred and Lyle Gunderson.
