Evelyn McKitrick was born October 17th, 1927, the daughter of August and Cora (Bagley) Davidson.  Evelyn was born in her home in Mineral Springs, ND and enjoyed life to the fullest with her older siblings Lonnie, Delmer, and Mae. At the age of 3 Evelyn was severely burned in their home by the wood burning stove. Her mother carried her a mile in the middle of winter to the nearest neighbors home to get a car to take her to the hospital. Evelyn spent 3 and a half months in the Miles City Hospital recovering.

She attended elementary school at Mineral Spring Consolidated School and attended high school in Bowman where she would stay in the girls Dormitory. While she was living in Bowman she met the love of her life, Boyd, as he was riding his horse down the main street of Bowman. They married on June 6th, 1946 at the United Methodist Church of Bowman and eventually settled on the McKitrick Ranch, where they welcomed four children into the world; Babs, Terry, Ronald, and Kevin.

Evelyn was always on the move. Whether it be cooking for the men on the ranch, driving grain trucks, sewing, baking pies for the sale barn or decorating cakes. Evelyn loved to serve her community in many ways. She was a clerk of the township for over 30 years. She was very active as a 4-h leader and loved teaching the kids about the world of agriculture. She was also the Clerk at the Bowman livestock Sale Barn for many years and attended the family calf sale every year she was able. Evelyn and Boyd truly loved the farm and ranch way of life and were recognized when they won the North Dakota Distinguished Rancher Award in Fargo, ND.

Evelyn and Boyd retired and moved to town in the year of 1994. To fill her time Evelyn started the giving tree at the Bowman United Methodist Church. After Boyd passed in 2006, Evelyn filled her time with Church luncheons, weekly cards at her home or the senior center, and driving the countryside with her friends. Evelyn loved to attend any event she could for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She found so much joy in supporting her family in every aspect that she could.

Evelyn is survived by her Children Babs and Melvin Iszler, Terry and Marilyn McKitrick, Kevin and Tami McKitrick and daughter-in-law Wanda Belland. Grandchildren; Melody Iszler, Tammy (Bryan) Johnson, Ryan (Tracy) Peterson, Amy (Paul) Fischer, Monica (Joe) Mosbrucker, Garrett (Nicole) McKitrick, Joseph (Carrie) McKitrick, David McKitrick, James (Kelly) McKitrick, Levi (Rachel) McKitrick, Quin (Clay Shields) McKitrick, Emily Belland. As well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
