Eva Kronberger was born on October 25, 1922, to John and Gertrude (Grundhauser) Kronberger in Selfridge, ND. During high school she spent summers at her aunt and uncle's home in Ft. Rice, ND. After graduating from Selfridge High School she attained certification and worked as a substitute teacher for a time. She moved to Bowman to work for her cousin and there met Allen Sedevie. They married on August 21, 1945 and lived on the Sedevie family farm until moving into town in 1952.
Eva's family always got a special treat when she made her famous dumplings and dill gravy. No one ever left the table hungry. She bowled on a league for many years until foot problems forced her to quit. She enjoyed coffee with friends, playing cards, working crossword puzzles and an occasional road trip with family or friends. She was active in the church, was a member of St. Theresa's Circle until they disbanded, and also taught catechism classes. Eva worked in the laundry at the St. Luke's Tri State Hospital, her husband's creamery and later as the bookkeeper for Allen when he started Al's Blacksmith Shop. She especially loved little children and they loved her. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. The annual Kronberger family reunion was a special event she and her family always looked forward to attend.
Eva is survived by her children; Robert Sedevie of West Fargo, Barbara Sedevie of Bowman, Rita Sedevie-Stebbins (Butch) of Prescott Valley, AZ, James Sedevie of Los Angeles, CA, and Thomas Sedevie (Wanda Lutes) of Bowman, ND, her grandchildren; Angela Berg of West Fargo, ND and Eric Sedevie of Fargo, ND; great grandchildren, Allison Berg and Jacob Sedevie; sisters, Kay Carter, Ann Nerdinger and Gertie Kraft; brother, Matt Kronberger.
At the age 11 Eva lost her mother and then at the age of 18 she also lost her father. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, son, David, brothers, Tony, Frank, Nick and Joe, sisters, Helen and Lena and three infant siblings.
