Eileen attended Grand River school #2. She then later attended the Grand River #1 school until the fourth grade when she moved to Bowman. Eileen attended and graduated from Bowman High Shool in 1940. In the spring of 1940, Cecelia Domagala introduced Eileen to Adolph Tollefsrud and they were then united in marriage on January 1, 1941 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman. After their marriage, in May of 1941 Adolph and Eileen purchase 640 acres of land one mile north of Spring Lake and this is where they made their home. They raised their family; Karen, Jo Ann, Kenneth, Adele, Mary Lou, Wanda, Alan, Zetha, Milton, Ardis, Curtis and Dan. Eileen raised her children and worked various jobs throughout her life. In 1992 due to Adolph's failing health, they moved to Bowman. Adolph passed away in 2000.
Eileen was a wonderful and caring woman. She will be remembered for many things such as her talent for crafts. She would make clothing, quilts, Afghans and many other crafts. She also loved to crochet and cross stitching. Many of her works have been passed on to all of her family. She also loved the peacefulness of Angels. Eileen was very accepting of everyone. She could bake just about anything. Some of her favorites were fresh bread and cocoa. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In Eileen very own words, "God be with you until we meet again at Jesus's feet."
