Eileen Hoff Belakjon, 85, of Scranton, ND passed away on May 21, 2011 at the Southwest Healthcare Hospital in Bowman, ND.
Funeral Services for Eileen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton, ND. Pastor Mary Peterson will officiate with burial to follow in Haley Cemetery. There will be a Family and Friends Service on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel in Bowman beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Eileen Hoff was born on October 7, 1925, the daughter of Selmer and Inga Hoff. She grew up North of Regent, ND, and graduated from Regent High School in 1943. She enlisted in the U.S. Cadet Corp, graduating from the Bismarck School of Nursing in 1946. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson for one year. On June 1, 1947 she married Arne Belakjon and became a farm wife. After her children were grown she worked nights for several years at the Sunset Home in Bowman. She liked gardening, flowers and making things for her family and friends. Arne and she were parents of twin sons, Donald and David born at Haley, ND, and daughter Roxanne born in Bowman. After she became a widow in 1996 she moved to an Apartment and enjoyed all her friends there. Eileen belonged to the Golden Miners, Sons of Norway, and Prairie Petal Homemakers Club and was active in her Church, quilting and Bible Study. She leaves son David and wife Betty, daughter Roxanne and husband Vernon Pierce and daughter-in-law Shari and her husband Ernie Ward, seven grandchildren, Tina (Roger) Thorson, Kelly (Danelle) Pierce, Aaron (Lee) Pierce, Kari (Tyler) Roller, Kirstin (Doug) Cayko, Brian (Rachel) Belakjon and Erik (Lorren) Belakjon and 12 great grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel, Breanna, Bailee, Maddox, Blythe, Jayce, Jaydn, Jayli, Paxten, Brinley, Isla and Nohl, and sister-in-law, Valborg Hoff and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arne, son, Donald, brothers, James and Orvin Hoff, sister Marlys Gilbertson
