Obituary

Edith H. Teske, 86, or Rapid City, SD, formerly of Scranton, ND, passed away on June 9, 2015 at the Fountain Springs Care Center in Rapid City.

Funeral Services for Edith will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton. Pastor Galen Strand will officiate with burial to follow in the Scranton Cemetery.

Edith was born on October 7, 1928 to Magdalena and Julius Ziebarth on the home farm in Scranton, ND. She graduated from Scranton High School in 1946. She continued her education at Miles City Presentation School of Nursing before moving to Hettinger to work at the new hospital in 1950. She was married to Kenneth Jagim in Dec 1950 at Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton, ND. They raised their family of five children: Roger, Ryan, Karla, Ross and Rusel. In 1958 they moved to Fargo because Ken had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis; he passed away in 1966 in Fargo. Edith worked at the Fargo Nursing Home as the Director of Nursing where she met Donald C Jamieson. They were married in Jackson Hole, WY in 1973. Don Jamieson passed away in 1981. Edith retired from the Fargo Nursing Home and moved back to Scranton to marry Gordon Teske in August 1987. She and Gordon were busy with "retired" farming, church, community, kids and grandkids. They enjoyed being snowbirds and traveling to Arizona for the winter months. Gordon passed away in 2011. She then transitioned to assisted care at Echo Ridge in Rapid City and then moved to Fountain Springs Healthcare. She passed away on June 9, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Edith's love and care was reflected not only in being a nurse but in opening her home and heart for family and friends in need. Her faith in God and her courage and determination helped her cope with her losses and health challenges in her life. Her passion was her family, and she enjoyed nothing better than watching her children and grandchildren in their varied activities. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and there was always room around the table for one more. We are challenged to carry on her values of faith, family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Edith is survived by Roger (Susan) Jagim, Ryan (Julie) Jagim, Karla (Jim) Miller, Ross (Gina) Jagim, Rusel (Becky) Jagim, , Georgia (Jim) Lundquist, Gary (Jeanine) Teske, Bonnie (Zane) Anderson, Tom (Marlene) Teske, Mike (Carla) Teske, 26 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Kenneth, Don and Gordon; brothers: Dennis and Carl; and sisters: Bernalda, Eugenie, Zelda and Erna.
