Doris Domagala, 77, of Bowman, ND passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 in Bismarck, ND at the Sanford hospital.
Funeral Services for Doris will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Bowman Lutheran Church. Pastor Charles Swanson and Pastor Galen Strand will officiate with burial to follow in the Bowman Cemetery. There will be a Family and Friends Service on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation for Doris will be on Friday, April 12, from 9-9 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel.
Doris Vatne was born on August 15, 1935, the daughter of Rudy and Ruth (Egeland) Vatne at the home of her grandparents, Lars Egelands, south of Rhame, ND. She lived and worked on the farm with her parents until she was 16. She then moved to Bowman and worked at the Red Owl, Super Value and the Coast to Coast Store. On August 23, 1957, Doris was united in marriage to Lawrence Domagala in Miles City, MT. After their marriage, they made their home in Austin, MN where Lawrence worked. To this union, two children were born; Cindy and Jeffrey. In April of 1960, Doris and Lawrence moved back to Bowman. Doris then worked at different homes cleaning so that she could take her children with her. She also took in washing and ironing for yearly combiners to make some extra money. Doris loved to camp and fish. She loved to cook and take care of her garden. After retiring, Doris and Lawrence started traveling. They spent some winters in Yuma, AZ which they really enjoyed. Doris loved kids and always had many stopping by her house to get a treat. She loved her family dearly. She was a member of the Bowman Lutheran Church. She will be missed by many.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Ruth Vatne, sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Holm, Betty Schleve and Ronald Sarsland, nephew, Wayne Holm and nieces, Stephanie and Rhonda Jung.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Bowman, daughter, Cindy of Bowman, son Jeff of Minneapolis, MN, sister, Eileen (Tom) Kalina of Bowman, Marlin (Shannon) Vatne of Rhame, brother-in-law, Dick Schleve of Dickinson brothers and sisters-in-law; Leland (Sandy) Domagala of Scranton, Betty (Jung) Sosinski of Mitchell, SD, Evelyn (John) Frovarp or Yuma, AZ and Darlene Domagala of Baker, MT and many nieces, nephews and friends.
