Donny Young, 80, of Scranton, ND, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck.

Memorial Services for Donny will be on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Bowman Assembly of God Church.  Pastor Ed Kvaale will officiate.  There will be a Family and Friends Services on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 7:00 pm at the Bowman Assembly of God Church.

Donny Allan Young was born in Malta Mt, on June 10th 1943 to Russell "Bud" Young and Juanita Hassler. During his time as a boy on the ranch in Malta he fell in love with horses and was surrounded by his 8 siblings Idella, Terri, Larry, Lolli, sheryl, Cody, Kip, and Tina. Dad spent his days riding horses and helping his dad work the ranch. He loved to hunt and fish with his family which was a tradition he carried with him all of his life.

Later in his life after leaving the ranch Donny took on many adventures including meat cutting school, he was a foreman for the american line builders putting up power lines throughout the U.S.. He still enjoyed ranch work from time to time but he retired as a police chief in Scranton. Somewhere on his adventures he found his love for Christ and kept that with him all of his remaining days.

Donny enjoyed music whether it be listening to his golden oldies or playing it for his loved ones on his guitar and harmonica, a talent he never took lessons for. He could also yodel and sing and did so as often as he could. What he loved most of all was spending time with his family camping, hunting, fishing, or just sitting around visiting and playing games.

Donny married Carryl Wade in May of 1963 with this union he had 4 children Corrina Williams (Shawn), Travis Young (Melissa), Marcie Graham (Frank), and Dawn Wilke (Lonny). Later he married Roseanna Coleman which added his step children Robert Cummings, Margret (Chip) Pewitt, and Larry Cummings (Roxie).  With Roseanna he had his two boys Donny Young jr. (Falina) and David Young (Bobbie Jo). With these unions Donny had 36 grand kids and 18 great grand kids. Leaving a beautiful legacy that continues to grow with 3 more great grandchildren on the way

Donny was an incredible man, a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, and grandpa. He loved his lord and savior Jesus Christ and spent his nights in prayer praying over his many loved ones and freinds. He was a pillar to his family, a prayer leader and was always there to provide prayers, support, a giant bear hug, and most of all love.

Donny is preceded in death by his parents Bud and Juanita Young, a brother David Young, and 4 grandchildren, Ty Allen Young, Kyran and Kyan Young and Brandon Smith, son-in-law, Chip

Donny will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He leaves with us a "legacy of love" that touched his family and everyone he met. The circle will remain unbroken.
