Donna Schaff, 65 of Scranton, ND, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the West River Regional Hospital in Hettinger, ND.

Funeral Services for Donna will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton. Pastor Mary Peterson will officiate with burial to follow in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Scranton. Visitation for Donna will be on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 10-9 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel in Bowman.

Donna M. Schaff was born November 9, 1948, in Hettinger, ND to Howard and Eleanor Walch. Donna was diagnosed with lung cancer in the fall of 2012. She passed away on June 26, 2014.
When Donna was in the third grade, the Walch family moved from Bucyrus to Hettinger. She graduated from Hettinger High School in 1966. In 1967 she married Nick Schaff from Mott, ND. Their union blessed them with two wonderful sons, Allen and Brad, and two great daughters-in-law (Deb and Liz) and six grandchildren whom she adored and loved to spoil.
Donna was happily employed for 37 years at Scranton Equity. She looked forward to going to work each day. Taking care of her customers was her top priority. She kept a sharp eye on their needs and would often fill gas tanks for elderly women. She began her employment as a bookkeeper, and retired from the Equity as Manager of the Fuel Division.
Donna's family was most important to her. She also enjoyed her dogs, dog-sitting, shopping, and visiting with her many friends. She always greeted everyone with a smile and kept her sense of humor to the end. She never complained about her illness and had no time for a "poor me" attitude. Cancer could not crush her spirit, stop her laughter, or dim the smiles she had for everyone. She touched the lives of everyone she met and will always hold a special place in many peoples' hearts.
Donna's surviving family members include her spouse, Nick, of Scranton. Her sons, Allen (Liz) of Johnstown, CO and Brad (Deb) of Stone Mt., GA, and six grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Wayne (St. Louis, MO) and Dennis (Punta Gorda, FL), 1 sister Connie Walch, 1 sister-in-law, Arlene Walch, both of Hettinger, ND and 2 very special friends, Melva Czywczynski and Sheila Ness.

In lieu of flowers, Donna preferred that donations be made to the Scranton School after-prom party fund and the non-denominational Vacation Bible School held yearly in Scranton at the Lutheran Church.
