Diana's services will be live-streamed
Diana was born on November 26, 1960 in Chula Vista, California to Roy Peterson and Harriet Cowling Peterson. She joined her brother Lynn and they lived in Spring Valley, California.
On November 17, 1967 her father married Sonia Campbell. Sonia brought two children to the family; Vicki and David. On February 22, 1969 Dan was born to bring the total number of children to five.
The family lived in southern California until the summer of 1977 when they moved to Bowman, ND. Diana graduated from Bowman High School in 1979. She was always a free spirit and shortly after graduation left Bowman to work in Kansas where she met the love of her life, Jeff Neufeld. They met by chance when Jeff stopped on his way to work to help her get her cat out from under her trailer house.
Jeff and Diana spent about a year in Kansas, then moved to Montana where they spent the summer camping. After a summer of adventure, they moved back to Kansas where Jeff was hired on an oil rig, which eventually took them to Oklahoma. By the following spring they returned to Montana and lived along the Gallatin River. They lived seven wonderful years working and fishing in Montana before moving back to Kansas where Jeff got a job working for a large feed lot. Jeff's education kept them on the move after some time in Kansas. Two years in Bottineau, ND for forestry school and then to Moscow, Idaho where Jeff received his masters from the University of Idaho. They lived 13 years in Moscow where Diana found her calling working in an Alzheimer unit at the local care center. She loved her work there and only cared about the residents and their comfort. Always up for an adventure, they moved to a remote cabin in the mountains outside of Moscow for seven years. They lived without electricity and sporadic water, but loved the rugged lifestyle and remoteness. As fate would have it the pull of family ties took them from the mountains of Idaho back to Bowman, ND where they reconnected with family and friends.
Diana was dearly loved and will be missed by all that she touched in their lives.
She is survived by her husband Jeff. Mom Sonia (Gary) Campbell. Sister Vicki (Clay) Van Wey. Sister-In-Law Liz Peterson. Brothers; David (Shari) Peterson and Dan (Chris) Peterson. Very special uncle Joe (Peggy) Fisher and uncle Darrell Peterson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Diana was preceded in death by her father Roy Peterson; brother Lynn Peterson and grandparents Roger and Gladys Fisher, Giles and Margaret Cook, George and Naomi Peterson.
