Derril D. Strom, 81, of Bowman, ND, passed away on February 22, 2026 at his home in Bowman.  Mass of Christian Burial for Derril will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 10:00 am at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman.  Fr. Ben Franchuk will celebrate the Mass with burial to follow in the Tuttle Cemetery, rural Rhame, ND.  There will be a Rosary and Vigil Service for Derril on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at the St. Charles Catholic Church beginning at 7:00 pm.

Derril Dean Strom was born May 23, 1944, to Glen and Madge Strom in Baker, MT. He attended Mound School from 1st grade through his 8th grade year.  He was a member of the Mound Midgets.  That team could beat every other team around.  They were a "Cinderella" team.

Derril attended his freshman year of high school at St. Mary's in New England, ND.  He transferred to Rhame High School and graduated there with his cousin, Don, in 1962.  He attended one year of college in Grand Forks, ND and then returned home to help is dad ranch.

Derril spent a year in Minneapolis where he met Paula.  They were married on January 12,1973 and adopted two children.  They later divorced.

After his dad passed away, Derril and his mother moved to Bowman.

Derril is survived by his daughter, Danelle, nephew Karl and niece Brandy.

He is preceeded in death by his son Micheal, parents Glenn and Madge Strom, brother Orlyn Stom, his grandma Mabel Strom,  his grandparents Art and Anne Rozella and several aunts, uncles and seven Strom cousins.
