David Arithson passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024 in Spearfish, SD at the age of 78. Memorial services for Dave will be held on March 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel in Bowman.
David and his twin brother Donald were born on March 28, 1946, in Baker, Montana, to Edward and Evelyn Arithson. David attended and graduated from Rhame High School in 1964. After high school, he worked full time at his family ranch south of Rhame on the North Dakota and South Dakota Stateline, where his Norwegian immigrant father established a claim in 1913.

Those fortunate enough to have known David will remember him as a kind, gentle, generous and good-humored man. He valued his family and hard work above everything. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and took immense pride in the successes of his friends and family. In his spare time, David enjoyed playing golf, riding motorcycle, and playing cards and boardgames.
David is survived by his wife, Lynda and his two children, Heidi (Christopher) Olson, Spearfish, SD, and Jason (Hattie) Arithson, Broadus, MT. David's surviving siblings include Rodger (Roma), Dwight (Kim), Audrey (Howard) Harvey, and Jeannette (Dick) Blair. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Austin (Alzada), Alexi (John), Gunner, Drew (Laura Kate), Nicholas, Bailey, Grayson and Elliott.
