His children found it fitting that Darrell passed away on Gala Day 2021 as Darrell and Gloria were members of Rhame saddle Club for many years and he was president for 13 of those years.  He was a member of the American Legion and Knight of Columbus for many years. Darrell enjoyed working with cattle and during the last year he would sit outside watching the neighbors' bulls and cows in the pasture, east of the house.
