Connie Jean Kalina, 62, passed away peacefully at her home in Henderson, Nevada, on Thursday, 26th January 2017. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday the 8th February at 11.00 am.
Connie Jean Kalina was born the 19th December 1954 at Bowman hospital; She is the daughter of Tommy and Eileen Kalina. She was raised on the family farm just west of Bowman. Connie attended Hart Country high school and graduated from Bowman High School to follow with studies at Wahpeton College. She then married her long-time high school boyfriend Randy R. Fleck. From their marriage, two beautiful children were born and warmly welcomed to the family: Sonia Maria and Jonathon Thomas Fleck.
With her husband in the military, Connie began what was to be an exciting time, travelling many places in the world to live new life adventures. She lived in Germany for several years, loving the sights and sounds of Paris in the winter, Austria in the fall, Munich in the summer. Following Europe, Connie was happy to be closer to home, returning with the family to the United States, and moved to many great states including Colorado Springs, CO, Anchorage, AK and Columbus, OH. Connie worked hard all her life and had built an amazing career with 'Discover Card', where she joined at the company's launch. She shared in the excitement of Discover Card's growing success, and she was highly regarded by her work colleagues. Her continual rise within Discover Card led her to Henderson, NV, where she worked to open new business opportunities for the entire Central and inner West Coast markets. There, she bought her dream sports car, a fire red 3000 GT Mitsubishi. She was so proud of that car, and kept it in immaculate condition. Eventually, Connie felt ready for new adventures and moved to Hawaii, where she lived for 12 years, watching many beautiful sunsets. In 2010, she moved back to Henderson, NV and lived until her passing.
Connie was a very loving and thoughtful person. She deeply loved animals, and had throughout her life adorable little dogs. She loved her parents very much, known by her father as "Dad's little doll", and by her Mom as "our little angel". She is preceded in death by her three cherished aunts: Dorothy, Doris, and Betty Jean. She is survived by her parents Tommy and Eileen Kalina of Bowman, ND, her brother Jason ( Deb ) Kalina, her children Sonia (Benoit) Fleck Badufle of Singapore, Jonathon (Saori) Fleck of Albuquerque, NM, and her grandchild Eli Fleck. She is survived by many friends near and far across the country. We all love her dearly.
