Clementine (Clem) Stockert was born on her parents farm on October 16th 1929. She was the third of 7 children born to Raphael & Eleanora (Frank) Stockert. She grew up happy and hard working. Clem loved her family and their animals on the farm. When the time came for her brother to go to serve our country, Clem stepped up into his role beside their father working very hard, long days on the farm. She had a great appreciation and love of the family horses. She understood they were their transportation, partners in the farm work and her dear friends. She attended a country school in Slope County and enjoyed learning and well as reading.

She met and married Lawrence Urlacher on October 3rd, 1948. Together they built their own farm and family. They started with very little. They received 5 cows, and a cooktop stove, a simple cupboard and a bedroom set as a wedding gift from her parents. They received a pig from Uncle Joe Dukart. And they had a meager $1500 and an old car. They used their money to buy 20 chickens and began their journey together. There were times money was so scarce they almost lost everything. Winters could be cruel and summers could be no less forgiving especially in the early days. But it was their spirit of hard work, determination and faith in the Lord that kept them going. Together they had 5 children whom she loved very much and are proud of. Over time they received 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren whom they also love dearly.

Clem worked hard all her life and she could do almost anything as well as any man. She milked cows by hand and tended to cattle, chickens and turkeys. She planted a big garden and shared the fruits of her labor with everybody. She always had beautiful flowers and never a cross word to the grandkids when they'd pick them. She understood their excitement and would tell them they were beautiful and get a vase to put them in. She enjoyed canning. And was an excellent cook and baker. She was especially good at sugar cookies, homemade pies and glazed donuts. She made sure no one left her house hungry. She always had time and plenty of coffee and baked goodies prepared for whomever crossed her threshold.

On the farm she had chickens and turkeys and always their cows. Even once they moved to town she managed to find a way to feed the animals, leaving a bowl of scraps out on the porch for the stray cats and dogs.

Clem had great artistic & musical talents. She knew how to paint on everything from canvas to sawblades and could turn it into something useful like clocks. She always enjoyed sewing and embroidering and crafts. She would try anything and mastered even challenging projects like pouring resin grapes into molds and creating lights. She even taught herself how to play the piano and guitar without having to take lessons.

She learned easily and quickly. Once her daughter took a class on quilting and without having to attend the class learned by watching and picked up the skill herself. She then began making quilts and has made over 100 handmade, hand quilted quilts. Every child, grandchild and great-grandchild has received one of these as a gift along with countless others she made for friends and relatives and donations to the church.

It was hard for Clem to see things go to waste or fall into disrepair. So she learned how to strip and refinish antique furniture. Restoring them to their original beauty. This passion for antiques and caring for others carried over into running a campground and antique shop later in life.

Clem was a special kind of woman. She was slow to anger and rich in appreciation for the little things. She had a special dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary, The Divine Mercy & the Holy Rosary. She is deeply loved and will be sincerely missed.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Urlacher of Bowman ND.; Her five children, Dave (Teresa) Urlacher, Bowman, ND., LaVern (Joyce) Urlacher, Salem, SD., Ed (Rose) Urlacher, Fromberg, MT., Reyne (Rick) Schaefer, Dickinson, ND., and Marvin (Barb) Urlacher, Billings, MT.; Her grandchildren, Jody Urlacher, Bowman, ND., Sonja (Mike) Fenske, Hankinson, ND., Stephanie Urlacher, Darwin, AUS., Brian (Angie) Urlacher, Grand Forks, ND., Wyatt (Heidi) Urlacher, Sioux Falls, SD., Janna (Bryan) Petre, Spenser, SD., Mark Urlacher, Powell, MT., Shauna Urlacher, Chicago, IL., Salina (Corey) Krebs, Bismarck, ND., Christina (Mike) Fisher, Dickinson, ND., Shannay (Kevin) Dvorak, Dickinson, ND., Danielle Urlacher, Billings, MT., & Dillon Urlacher, Billings, MT.; Great Grandchildren Garett Fenske (Sonja & Mike), Jak, Will & Claire Urlacher (Brian & Angie), Harper & Mathais Urlacher (Wyatt & Heidi), Reed Petre (Janna & Bryan), Leah, Evelyn & Alexandra Krebs (Salina & Corey), Autumn Fisher (Christina & Mike), and Addison & Keaton Dvorak (Shannay & Kevin).; Her Brothers, Van Stockert, Steele, ND., Henry (Leona) Stockert, Brainerd, MN., Robert (Josephine) Stockert, Dickinson, ND.; Her sister, Agnes (Fred) Reichert, Billings, MT.
